It is nearly time for the walk-a-thon. While Owen and I are excited, we are also a but down. While I have been given two items for the raffle, there have been no donations or sponsorships coming out of our wokplaces this year. Last year I was able to get a handful of people to "sponsor" me to walk. With all that the foundation needs to do this year, we need these donations more than ever.  There needs to be legislative changes in the state. Too many families are left without help to pay the high prices of required formula and special food. We also need to be able to show our support for upcoming treatments for PKU. We have Kuvan on the market, but that is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to potential drug treatments.

I wish people could see that a few dollars can go so far. People here have gotten so stingy with these economic times. Not to brag, but we are in tight times here too. Even so, we still help the foundation and I still sponsor two precious girls through Compassion International. All you have to do is plan well, shop smart, and have a little faith.  Sorry for the vent...it just upsets me how people can be. We are all feeling the pinch, but we can all help those whose pinch has turned into a raging pain.
