Hey Holly- I found your blog this morning and have enjoyed reading it. My husband is 33 and also has PKU. He is also on Kuvan. We are talking about the possibility of relocating to VA in a year or so and I was concerned that we might not be able to continue on Kuvan if we moved. We currently live in the Atlanta area so he has been in the study here at Emory. He has also responded well and for the first time in years his levels are below 7. It is fun to here him say that he can think more clearly and doesn't feel fuzzy headed. We lived in Richmond previously for 4 years but my husband was still following up with his genetics doctor in SC so we never got involved with the folks in the state of VA. I understand from your blog that the formula is covered by insurance and is not covered by the state of VA- is that correct? We were really hopeful that the state would cover it so as not to have the insurance issues. I have had to work full-time while living in VA so that we can get insurance and I am ready to give that up. My husband is self employed and no one in their right mind will cover him self employed with PKU due to the cost of his formula alone not to mention the Kuvan now!
